The braking system is the most important safety factor in your car.

One of the easiest ways to tell if they're working is to check your brake warning light, as the handbrake light is also the warning light for low brake fluid in the braking system.

Brakes need regular checking and adjustment to ensure even braking or if you experience any abnormalities such as:

  • Vehicle pulls to the left or right when braking
  • Brake pedal is unusually hard, soft or spongy
  • Brake pedal or handbrake lever has excessive travel
  • Vehicle or steering wheel shudders when you brake
  • Brakes screech or squeal with or without applying the brake pedal
  • Car takes longer to stop than normal.
Disc brake lathe machine
(Pictured above is the disc brake lathe for machining discs.)

After thousands of braking applications disc rotors wear, and usually unevenly.
For effective braking, it is recommended to machine your discs to ensure:

  • Proper bedding in of your new brake pads
  • Eliminates brake shudder
  • Eliminates brake squeal
  • Ensures maximum life of your new brake pads
If your brake discs are below the required minimum thickness, new discs must be fitted. All machining is done on site and only high quality brake pads are fitted.
